The Teenage Brain: A Neuroscientist's Survival guide to Raising Adolescents and Young Adults

by Frances E. Jensen, MD with Amy Ellis Nutt Year Published: 2015

This book helps parents understand how teens' brains are wired, which in turn explains why they do what they do.  With chapters related to stress, substance use, mental illness, and others, this is a great tool for parents to have.

Some chapters are a little heavy on the brain structure and chemistry, but I found them still interesting.  Skip them if you need to, but read the rest of the book!
