Hello! My name is Miss Shapiro and I am so excited to be teaching first grade at Washington School! I recently earned my Master of Education in Curriculum and Learning from William Paterson University. I also graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Bucknell University in 2019! I am a 2015 alumna of James Caldwell High School and was a student in the Caldwell-West Caldwell School District from kindergarten through twelfth grade. This will be my third year teaching first grade, but my fourth year teaching; I taught kindergarten at Jefferson School my first year! I did my student teaching in first grade in Milton, Pennsylvania, and I have had further teaching experiences in both Denmark and England. I am especially passionate about play-based learning and conducting research involving elementary mathematics!
