Curriculum Overview

  • The Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools prides itself on having state-of-the-art curricula in all of its content areas that are in alignment with New Jersey Core Content Curriculum Standards.  Every curricular area is evaluated, revised, and implemented as part of the approved five year curriculum plan.  As part of the evaluation and revision process, administrators and curriculum committees ensure that the district is up to date with the most current standards, that there are interdisciplinary connections, that technology and technology tools are embedded, that the assessments are standardized and appropriate, and that modifications are available for students who require differentiation of instruction.  All revised curricula have maps available for teachers to help them remain on pace and standardized.  The Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools does not subscribe to or purchase a particular curriculum program. Instead, our curricula are "home grown" and are a compilation of best instructional and learning practices grounded in research and experience. These curricula allow for both flexibility and creativity on the part of the teaching staff in order to benefit their students.
