I began my journey at GCMS in 2013 as a full-year maternity leave replacement for 8th grade language arts. Since then, I have had the pleasure of teaching 6th grade language arts. I have always had a passion for reading and writing ever since the first book series I ever completely read by myself- Junie B. Jones. Since then, my love for literature grew into a career I enjoy going to every day.
In addition, I began coaching girls' freshman basketball at James Caldwell High School in 2014, and much like teaching, coaching has always been a passion of mine. I first started playing basketball in 3rd grade, and I stopped when I went to college. When in college, I volunteered for the boys' basketball recreation program, in my hometown, for grades 5-8, and I was lucky enough to spend that time coaching my younger brother and his friends. Now, I am lucky to be able to help out the Caldwell Community and continue my love for the game.
I went to college at William Paterson University where I studied Literature and Secondary Education. I earned my Bachelor's degree and graduated magna cum laude. Now, I am enrolled in Caldwell University's MA program for Curriculum and Instruction.
In my free time, some hobbies I enjoy are reading, exercising, kayaking, camping, hiking, being outdoors, and spending time with my nephew. A few of my favorite authors are James Patterson, Gillian Flynn, and Emily Giffin.
My favorite books that I read this summer were Wonder by R.J. Palacio and Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen.
