Period 1 Reporting
In accordance with P.L. 2010, c. 122, this is the semi-annual public report to the Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education on incidents of violence and vandalism, including harassment, intimidation and bullying (HIB). This report covers the time period of September 1 to December 31, 2014 and is presented as part of the Superintendent’s Report at the Public Monthly Meeting of the Board of Education on Monday February 9, 2015.
A. Violence and Vandalism
Three total incidents of Violence and Vandalism were reported which include two acts of inappropriate physical contact between students and one act of substance abuse.
The one act of substance abuse include use of alcohol at a school function.
One act of violence was a physical altercation between two students.
One act of violence was inappropriate contact by one student towards another.
B. Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB)
During the time period indicated, 9 allegations of HIB were made to school principals.
After investigations by the Anti-bullying Specialist, 2 occurrences were determined to be
HIB Incidents. Two incidents occurred at the high school.
The incidents fell into the following categories
- 2 incidents of demeaning commentary
All incidents were investigated within the legal and policy timelines, and all outcomes were upheld by the Board of Education.
