Message from Dr. James HeineggSuperintendent of SchoolsSeptember 2019
It is an honor and a pleasure to offer best wishes to the Caldwell-West Caldwell community for the 2019-2020 school year.
In addition to welcoming back the many students returning from last year, we look forward to greeting the incoming Kindergarteners and other students just beginning their educational careers in our district. Several educators are joining the district this school year as well, and we likewise look forward to welcoming them as colleagues. This school year marks the beginning of full-day Kindergarten in the district; we thank the Caldwell-West Caldwell community for its support of this important initiative.
As we begin the school year, please consider these two important health and safety reminders:
1. Please refrain from idling your automobile on school grounds. Idling pollutes the air our students breathe, wastes gasoline, and is against the law. New Jersey Motor Vehicle Code 39:3-70.2 restricts vehicle idling to 3 minutes both on public and private property.
2. Bicycle riders should wear helmets. New Jersey Motor Vehicle Code 39:4-10.1, requires anyone under 17 years of age to wear a helmet while riding a bicycle. This law also applies to the use of roller skates, inline skates, and skateboards.
Best wishes to the entire Caldwell-West Caldwell community for much learning and success in the coming months!
James Heinegg, Superintendent
