I graduated from Glassboro State College (Rowan University) with a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education. I am certified as a Special Education Teacher Grades K - 12 and I am also certified in Social Studies. I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling at Montclair State University and received certifications as a Guidance Counselor and Social Worker. I have earned a certificate as an Orton Gillingham Teacher from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I have taken the Praxis and I am Highly Qualified in Middle School Math.
I taught sixth grade for one year at Fairfield Intermediate in Southern New Jersey outside of Bridgeton. For three years, I taught sixth grade at George Washington Intermediate in Hillside, New Jersey. I then went on to teach four and one-half years at James Caldwell High School. After taking an extended family leave, I returned to Lincoln School twelve years ago. I am pleased to be teaching Third and Fourth Grade Resource Room Reading, Language and Math.
Through grants, I have been able to receive some valuable teaching tools. Thanks to the Caldwell/West Caldwell Education Foundation's generous grant program, I have been able to increase the size of my in classroom library, have standing desks, ball chairs and stools. It is wonderful to teach in a community that inspires and supports teachers so generously.
I enjoy living in West Caldwell with my husband Don and my three children Emma, Ryan and James. We have a Golden Retirever named Penny. We also enjoy hiking in the Adirondacks and walking on the beach in Long Branch, NJ.
In my spare time, I enjoy sewing, crafting and reading.
