Grover Cleveland Middle School is my home-away-from-home! The students and staff here are smart and funny and fun; I am very lucky to have a job I love so much. I am especially proud of my work with the other sixth grade teachers, and the ways we work together; it gives me a true sense of being part of a team. It is so nice to feel genuinely connected to something bigger than myself.
I grew up in southern New Jersey with two brothers, and later two step-brothers and two step-sisters. I graduated from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore where I studied writing and education in addition to Earth science. I completed my Master’s Degree in Education at the College of New Jersey.
I have one child, Samantha, and she keeps me busy with most of my time outside of school. Other activities that I enjoy include seeing concerts (especially at clubs in NYC), writing haiku, and flower arranging. If I couldn’t be a teacher, I think I would like to be a sociologist.
