• Arts & Computer Workshop


    CERAMICS (4-9) - Pinch Pot Creatures - Students will learn the most fundamental and basic skill in Ceramics: the Pinch Pot. We will be creating “Pinch Pot Creatures” from our pinch pots. Arms, legs, eyes, hair, etc., will be added to create detail and form our creatures.

    Mugs – The students this summer will have the chance to create functional mugs! Using the “slab” technique, student will roll out clay, assemble mugs, add handles, and use food safe glazes to create their own one-of-a-kind mugs


    TECH FUN (4-9) - This summer students will be able to explore Scratch, an interactive programming language created by MIT. We plan to create animations, computer games and interactive projects while thinking creatively, working collaboratively, and reasoning systematically. Students can also explore how to design basic websites if they desire. Of course we will review Internet safety, the basics of Google slides and practice our typing skills. Also, children will be encouraged to use the interactive whiteboard, try coding various robots, and even design and create one of a kind t-shirts. On Fridays, children will be introduced to educational online games. It’s always air conditioned, relaxed and fun in the lab!


    WEB DESIGN (Grades 4-9) - Students will learn how to design websites, using free software available on the internet. Internet safety is stressed throughout the course.  This course is specifically designed for the older students. Exceptions are considered based upon individual skills. The course allows students to create website topics geared to their individual interests.   Creativity and imagination in their designs are always encouraged.


    MIXED CRAFTS (All Grades) -  Join us as we explore collage, three dimensional paper design, printmaking, mobile design, sculpture, weaving and more using a variety of interesting and colorful materials. Our finished masterpieces will be colorful and eye catching with a little bit of crazy thrown in.


    POTTERY WHEEL (Grades 7-9) - Advanced students will be given instruction on throwing techniques in the use of the Pottery Wheel.  This will include centering, shaping, and finishing their wheel projects. Along with this, we will work with plaster molds to create bowls and plates that can be used with real food.


    DRAWING 1&2 THE MOST IMMEDIATE ART (4-9) – This workshop will demonstrate some fantastic illusions of depth.  The students will draw portraits, a silly beast or maybe a Van Gogh Still Life, a collage, and a drawing with string materials.  Everyone will work at their own pace.


    THE PAINTER’S BRUSH (Grades 6-9) - This class will use “wet media”, water color, and acrylic paint on canvas.  Think you are not an artist? We beg to differ! Join in on The Painter’s Brush and you’ll see.  The hardest part is that first stroke


    WEAVING (4-9) – Let’s do some weaving. Let’s use some unusual materials and expand what we think weaving could be. Get your yarn and sticks ready kids.


    DANCE (Grades 4-5) - Learn choreographic routines to show tunes and contemporary music geared to performance.


    DANCE (Grades 6-9) -  For the advanced student, exposure to different musical styles.  Develop full dance routines to contemporary shows and popular music. Jazz is a dance form that appeals to everyone because of its energy, variety, and use of well-known pop music.  The classes are upbeat and begin with a warm-up, followed by movement across the floor, and choreographed combinations of rhythmic movements including turns and leaps.


    ACTING WORKSHOP (Grades 4-9) - Students will work together on scenes that tie into this year's Monster Arts theme! Together we will work on skits that embrace the fun of all things spooky. There will be lots of opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and fun.


    JUNIOR MUSICAL THEATER (Grades 4-5) – Children will be introduced to the world of musical theater and through this year's theme, Monster Arts! Come celebrate all things spooky and sweet along with us this year!



    Get ready, guys and ghouls! This year, summer arts is being turned into Monster Arts! We'll sing and dance along to songs from Broadway musicals like The Addams Family, Phantom of the Opera, and more. Come celebrate all things spooky and sweet along with us this year!

    *If your student would like to participate in Musical Theater please make sure to add this class to period 4 and period 5



    BEGINNER PIANO (All Grades) - This class will explore the beginning stages of playing the piano. Students will learn musical notes, rhythms, and ideas to be able to play beginning piano songs. Students who sign up need an electric keyboard with a minimum of 60 keys. The class instructor will accept a maximum of 15 students. Please note this class is for instruction only and will not be included in the final performance.


    GLEE CLUB CHORUS (All Grades) - If your child loves to sing then Glee Club is the class for them. Glee Club will offer opportunities for a performance based, singing only setting. Students will work on proper singing technique while preparing a few songs for the end of camp performance.
