Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance Adelphi University Bachelor of Arts in Education

Michele Stein

Michele began dancing at the age of 3 in her hometown of Hoboken, NJ. After graduating from the High School of Performing Arts in NYC, she received a full talent scholarship to Adelphi University, where she earned a BFA in dance. Finding herself teaching more than performing after graduation, and extremely happy with this turn, Michele went back to receive a BA in education and began her second career as a public-school teacher. Instead of being handed a theater or dance position, her principal handed her a science textbook, so bringing theater into children’s lives became extracurricular. During the school year Michele is a science teacher at Hackensack Middle School and the Hackensack H.S. choreographer for their yearly musical. She looks forward to summers each year and teaching the children of Caldwell/West Caldwell. This year marks her 20th with our program!
