Use of Calculators
All students in grades first through fifth will be taught the effective use of calculators in the mathematics curriculum. Calculators will not be used indiscriminately in the classroom and will not be used as a substitute for learning basic skills to compute mentally, or to do reasonable paper and pencil computation. Calculators will be used to help students explore and analyze mathematical relationships and to compute for word problems
