COVID - 2019 Coronavirus

  • Dear Caldwell-West Caldwell Community:

Here is some information about COVID-2019, also known as the Novel Coronavirus:

The key recommendations from both local and national health officials are:

    1. Stay informed.  Two key sources of information are the New Jersey Department of Health (https://www.nj.gov/health/cd/topics/ncov.shtml) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/media/dpk/diseases-and-conditions/coronavirus/coronavirus-2020.html).
    2. Practice good hygiene.  Many of these recommended practices are identical to the practices shared in a previous email from our nurses regarding cold and flu season:  Stay home when you are sick, Cover coughs and sneezes, wash hands, etc.
    3. Staff or students returning from travel in key areas should contact the district prior to returning to work/school.
    4. Please refer to the CDC web site for updated travel-related advisories and other guidance:  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html
    5. Here is a recent article about talking with children about COVID-2019:  Talking to Teens and Tweens about Coronavirus
    6. Here is a fact sheet from Essex County:  COVID - 2019 Essex County

The District is continuing to monitor this situation, and will share additional resources as we receive them.

    Thank you,

    James Heinegg
