The following standardized assessments will be administered to students in Caldwell - West Caldwell Public Schools in the 2019-20 School Year:

InView is a cognitive abilities test administered to students in grade 2 and grade 4.  The testing generally takes a few hours in a single morning.  Testing schedules are communicated by School Principals prior to the test.

The PSAT is offered to all 9th, 10th, and 11th graders.  It will be offered on October 16, 2019.  The schedule is as follows:

Students taking the PSAT are to report for the exam by 7:45 a.m.

All non-testing students will report to the CPA by 10:15 a.m.

All twelfth graders will report to the cafeteria by 10:40 a.m. for their senior picture.

The SAT and ACT are offered on a voluntary basis, typically on Saturday mornings.  Please check the JCHS calendar for available dates.

    New Jersey Student Learning Assessments

Students in grades 3 - 8 will take state assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics.  For students in grades 9 - 12, the state tests are administered according to courses taken by the student.  Students also take Science tests once in elementary school, once in middle school, and once in high school.

These state tests were formerly known as "PARCC," but the state has ended its participation in that consortium.  Here is the statement from the NJDOE from last year:

The State of New Jersey has ended its membership of the interstate consortium that produced the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) assessments. While the online platform will remain the same, the state’s mathematics and English Language Arts (ELA) assessments will no longer be called Partnership for Assessment of College and Career Readiness (PARCC). The statewide assessments for ELA and mathematics will be called:
    • New Jersey Student Learning Assessments-ELA (NJSLA-ELA)
    • New Jersey Student Learning Assessment-Mathematics (NJSLA-M)
