    Devlin
    Principal - Jim Devlin
    Jim Devlin came to Caldwell-West Caldwell in 2015 with a rich background in teaching and administration.  Mr. Devlin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History Education and graduated from the University of Delaware, Magna Cum Laude, in 1992.  He attended Rutgers University where he earned a Master of Education – Supervision and Administration degree in 1999.  Mr. Devlin taught at Marlboro High School from 1992 to 2000, and then served as the Social Studies Supervisor at Chatham High School for five years before accepting an administrative position at Morris Knolls.  He administered as an assistant principal and social studies supervisor at MKHS in Denville, NJ, for ten years.  Mr. Devlin is married to his wife, Casey, and has two sons ages 21 and 18.  Mr. Devlin loves to exercise, read, travel and cheer for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but his favorite activity is anything that includes spending time with his family and their golden doodle, Daisy.  Mr. Devlin is fiercely proud of the students and faculty of JCHS.  Together, we build upon the academic, artistic, athletic, and altruistic achievements of this outstanding high school.

    Vice Principal - Paul Salisbury

    Mr. Salisbury is excited to join the administrative team at James Caldwell High School after spending the last 18 years as a high school teacher and middle school administrator. He obtained his BA in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2003, and in 2004, obtained his MA in Teaching, also from FDU. In 2014, Mr. Salisbury completed the Program for Educational Leadership from NJEXCEL. Prior to becoming an administrator, and while teaching at Old Bridge High School, Mr. Salisbury coached both boys and girls sports at all three levels. Outside of school, Mr. Salisbury loves spending time and traveling with family, watching his 2 children compete in their sports, and going to the beach. He is looking forward to contributing to the wonderful community of faculty and students at James Caldwell High School.

    Vice Principal - Danielle Schweitzer

    Ms. Schweitzer is excited to join the administrative team at James Caldwell High School after spending 6 years as the assistant principal at Long Valley Middle School.  She obtained her BA in Early and Middle Childhood Education from Montclair State University in 2004, and in 2008 obtained her MA in Middle School Mathematics, also from MSU.  In 2014, Ms. Schweitzer completed her MA in Educational Leadership from Centenary University.  Prior to her role in administration, she taught 8th grade mathematics in Roxbury Township, before joining the Washington Township Schools in 2008 as a math teacher.  Outside of school, Ms. Schweitzer loves to travel, run, watch sports, and spend time with her two children, ages 11 and 7.  She is looking forward to becoming part of all of the fantastic opportunities that are available to our students.

    Blackman

    Supervisor of Guidance - Lisa Blackman
    Ms. Blackman is honored to be the Supervisor of Guidance at JCHS.  Prior to being appointed to this position in 2015, she served for eight years as a Guidance Counselor at Cedar Grove High School, Cedar Grove, NJ, where, in addition to working with students, she created and managed the scheduling process, introduced and instituted Naviance to the school district, and supported testing.  Ms. Blackman also served as a Guidance Counselor at Memorial Middle School in Cedar Grove, Heights Elementary School in Oakland, and E.W. Thurston Middle School in Westwood, MA. She is a member of the American School Counselor Association, New Jersey Counselor Association, National Association for College Admission Counseling and the New Jersey Association for College Admission Counseling.

     Romano
    Athletic Director/Supervisor of Secondary Education - Dan Romano
    Mr. Dan Romano joined us in 2016 as our Athletic Director/Supervisor of Secondary Education.  A 1975 Caldwell graduate, Mr. Romano has lived in West Caldwell his entire life. Married for 36 years to Cindy (Michaels) Romano (c/o 1977), he also sent 4 children through the Caldwell-West Caldwell school system. A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mr. Romano started his educational career in 1993 becoming a teacher of electricity in the Essex County Vocational school system.  In 1984 he was given the opportunity to coach football here at JCHS under the legendary coach Andy Durburow. Mr. Romano coached football for 33 years at JCHS. In 1986, baseball was added to his coaching resume as he coached at either Caldwell or Bloomfield Tech up until 2015. He served as the Director of Athletics at Bloomfield Tech for 13 years and most recently as their Assistant Principal. Coming back to JCHS is truly a dream come true. Mr. Romano is passionate about athletics, but even more passionate about helping our students become people of good character, which is realized so wonderfully by the positive experiences that are gained through athletics.
