October:  So far this month, we have learned how to add using pictures and cubes.  Then we learned about "Flip-flop facts."  These facts are also called the commutative property in Math.  An example of a flip-flop fact is 2 + 3 = 5 and 3 + 2 = 5.  It's when you switch the addends and add in any order.  Now we are learning how to write a math sentence vertically.  We used dominoes to help us!  Our math vocabulary words are: addend, sum, plus, and equal.

September:  We will practice making different patterns.  We will use colors, shapes, and cubes.  At home, you can use cereal, pasta, coins, or anything you can think of!
