Spelling Homework Schedule

All work should be done in your Word Book or Alphabet and Word Folder/Notebook. (as listed below).

 Monday: Write the first 5 words three times each in your Alphabet and Word Folder/Notebook.

 Tuesday: Write the second 5 words three times each in your Alphabet and Word Folder/Notebook.

 Wednesday: Write 3 sentences using any of the ten words in your Alphabet and Word Folder/Notebook.

Underline the spelling word.

 Thursday: Choose 3 of your spelling words.  Write 3 words that rhyme with each of those words in your Alphabet and Word Folder/Notebook.

 Study your words any way you would like to for your test on Friday.

Book in the Bag and Spelling Word Announcement!

The week of October 27 there will not be a Book in the Bag activity (due to a clerical error).  Please continue to read books of your choice at night.

The week of November 3 there will not be a Book in the Bag activity or new Spelling words.  This week is a short week due to Election Day and Teacher's Convention.

Use this week as a "CATCH-UP" week.  That means practice all of the words that we have already learned.  Many students are able to read the words, but not write them.  Catch up on some words! :)

Friday is Halloween

Please send your child in regular clothes to school.  The students will change into their costumes at 1pm.  Please provide a baggie for the costume and clothes. 

The Wilson School Halloween parade begins at 2:30pm. 

Please remember that NO candy is allowed!

THANK YOU to Firefighter Medina and Firefighter Poli for visiting the 1st grade!  They taught us about fire prevention, checking our smoke detectors, and how to create a fire plan with our parents.  Then Firefighter Poli put on all of his firefighter gear to show us what each part does and why they have to wear it!

Book in the bag will begin on Monday, October 13th.  Please send in your baggie and book.  We will add the "Hooked on Books" worksheet to the baggie.  Remember to return the worksheet on Friday.

Chaperones, thank you for joining us on our class trip to the Apple Orchard.  We ALL had a great time!  We learned about how apples grow and change color in the sun!  We also saw the whole life cycle of a pumpkin!
