The entire Lincoln School learning community is rooted in the belief that every child can flourish when a positive and supportive environment exists. Close communication between and among faculty, administration, and parents provides a level of support to students that enables all to succeed, evidenced by a comprehensive curriculum, innovative teaching strategies, and high expectations for student achievement.
The Lincoln School staff is ever mindful of our obligation to encourage the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student, and the importance of a strong curriculum in any such endeavor cannot be overstated. The elementary curriculum reflects alignment with State Core Curriculum Content Standards. Staff development opportunities are provided throughout the school year, enabling teachers to refine and update their skills in accordance with current research on student achievement. Teachers and the administration collaborate regularly as part of the evaluation process to ensure that the needs of students are consistently met.
The H.S.A. sponsors workshops and productions which bring artists into the lives of the children at Lincoln School. A formal talented and gifted program is available to students who qualify, enabling all students to be consistently challenged by the work they are asked to do.
The use of multiple technologies is evolving at a rapid pace at Lincoln School. We are acutely aware of our responsibility to balance traditional instruction in the academic disciplines with the need to embrace these emerging technologies in a responsible manner, surely one of the most seminal issues in public education as the 21st century dawns. It is critical that this process is accompanied by the free exchange of ideas and viewpoints between school personnel and community members, opportunities for which are provided at regular meetings of the H.S.A., in addition to less formal gatherings and events throughout the school year.
The success our students enjoy is the end result of
the efforts of many groups and individuals. Students, teachers, parents,
support staff, and
administration who work well together, share their
ideas collaboratively, and communicate effectively make Lincoln School
