Subject: Intergenerational Prom of Thursday, April 10, 2008

Dear JCHS Parents:

First and foremost, thank you to all of you and your students that have already volunteered to help out in some way for the 17th Intergenerational Prom.  A few parents have said that they would like to see this again, so if you have already volunteered, please feel free to delete this or let it serve as a reminder for the date and time of the event.

Again, my name is Christine Corliss and for those of you that don't know me yet, I am the new publicity person for the school district. As such, one of my responsibilities is organizing the Intergenerational Prom that has become such an anticipated event for our local seniors.  (The welcome that I have received as I delivered invitations for this event was amazing!  It is truly a well-loved event!)  This year, the prom will take place on April 10 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at the JCHS cafeteria.

However, with every wonderful event comes work and I am hoping that many of you will be able to help. If you are able to help in one or more of the following areas, it will be very appreciated.  Just let me know if you have any questions!!

* Appetizers -- Anyone willing to bring a plate of some sort of simple appetizer (cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, etc.) can drop it to the school from 2:30 to 5:30p.m. on the day of the prom.

* Cookies -- We are baking cookies to put on trays for dessert.  If you are able to make a batch of one kind of cookie to contribute and/or help with the assembly of the trays, please contact Judy Collins who has graciously offered to assemble the cookie platters. Thank you, Judy.

* Decorating -- We only have 3 hours to transform the cafeteria into a Night Under the Stars (Yes, that is the theme this year). Anyone willing to help set tables, decorate walls, hang stars, etc. can help out from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on April 10Also, if your children are willing and able to stay and help, that will also be great!! Three hours is not a lot of time!

* Students -- As most of you know, our students are the real attraction here and we need them to come and serve, talk, dance, and have fun with our guests.  Grades 9 and 10 will act as servers this year, grades 11 and 12 will act as hosts, dancers, etcSome of your children may have already signed up in school, if so, wonderful; if not, we would love for them to come!!  To sign up, the students can see their class advisors or student council advisor

I thank you all for your time, support and suggestions (yes, I am open to all of them!).

I look forward to meeting you!

Regards,

Christine Corliss
