Attention all students interested in some volunteer work this summer.  Liberty Science Center is looking for students 14 years of age or older (unless volunteering as Family Volunteering) to commit one four-hour shift per week.   Details in Guidance.

 

Camp Sunshine-Snowflake is also looking for volunteers to work with disabled children and young adults (summer and fall).  See Guidance for details.

 

Attention all Seniors - The Joseph E. Enright Foundation Health Education Scholarship is still available.  The deadline is June 30th for the next review.  Any student planning further education in the field of Healthcare is eligible to apply.  See Guidance for details.

The Guidance Department is again offering an Essay Writing Workshop for all Juniors.  There will be a morning and an afternoon session on Thursday, May 22nd .

Please come to the Guidance Office to sign up.  Once again, this is a first come first serve opportunity.

Tickets for Performances for Peace: a benefit concert for Darfur are now on sale during all lunch mods.  This concert is a student-planned and run event which features high school performers.  There will be two shows, one at 2:00 PM and one at 7:00 PM on May 18, 2008 at the United Methodist Church on the corner of Bloomfield Ave and Washburn.  Tickets are $10 and all money will go to the Save Darfur Coalition.

 

Attention all seniors – a new scholarship has just come to the Guidance office – the Keith Hightower Scholarship – deadline is May 20th.  Criteria for those applying is participation in math and science competitions, or independent scientific research during high school.  Details in guidance.
