Reporting Scores
When your college or university requires "official" test scores to be forwarded to them you must arrange to have your scores, such as SAT's and/or ACT's, sent by the testing agency directly to the college or university. Most institutions of higher learning will only accept as "official" scores reported in such a manner and will not treat scores reported on high school transcripts as "official". If you are in doubt whether a school will take scores off of transcripts or not the best course of action is to have them reported by the testing agency. Ways of Reporting Scores 1. When you register to take a test and you know at that time what schools you want to receive them you may enter up to four schools, at no additional cost, using the four digit codes found with the registration materials. Any school you code as a recipient will get the scores from that test plus all previous scores from SAT Reasoning Tests (SAT 1) or SAT Subject Tests (SAT 2 ). The ACT organization reports only the current scores not any previous scores. If you do not indicate a recipient on your ACT registration and take that test more than once you have the option to choose which set of scores you want reported. However, you do not have the option of reporting the best scores of the individual batteries. Thus the college will not take your best math, verbal etc as they do with the SAT. 2. You may request scores to be sent or change the recipients on or before the day of the test by following the directions on your admission ticket or going on-line to www.collegeboard.com. or www.act.org. 3. After the test you may send an additional report form available in guidance or go on line to request scores to be sent. There is a fee involved for this type of service. Rush reporting is also available but some schools do not accept rush reports.
