Course Description
Grade 7 Mathematics
This course explores problem-solving and critical thinking processes in mathematical applications. Students are constantly exploring ways to communicate and reason with mathematical concepts, as well as relate mathematics to every day life. The mathematical concepts covered in grade seven include number sense, decimal, fraction, and percent operations and applications, ratio, and proportional reasoning. Geometry and spatial sense topics include points, lines, planes, polygons, transformations, perimeter, circumference, area, and measurement, with an introduction to volume and surface area. Data analysis, statistics, probability, introductory discrete math and algebraic concepts are also topics of study.
