Incoming Freshmen/Transfer Athletic Information

 

Dear Incoming Freshmen Student/Athletes:

 

The following is information that will make your transition into high school athletics easier to understand.

IMPORTANT:  Physical Information

Ø      No child, once graduated from 8th grade may practice or participate in any official JCHS sport/activity without an approved medical physical completed by your own physician, using the school’s paperwork. 

Ø      This paperwork may be obtained in May from the high school and middle school nurse’s office. 

Ø      Parents and student/athletes are encouraged to have these forms completed and handed into the high school by JULY 25th for fall sports.  They will then be sent to our doctor for approval.

Ø      THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY

Ø      Official Fall Sport Practices begin in mid to late August

 

OTHER INFORMATION

Ø      Practice and Games-Practice and games typically run 6 days a week.  It is expected by the coaching staff that you are in attendance and prepared for practice and games, unless you provide the coach with a reason in advance. 

Ø      Academics-You must pass at least 13.75 credits at the end each semester and 27.5 credits at the end of each year in order to be eligible to compete in the high school athletic program.

Ø      Citizenship:  It is expected that ALL students at James Caldwell High School will follow all school rules.  An improper decision made by a student/athlete, can impact his/her participation on a team or teams.
