BOOK BATTLE FIFTH GRADE
FIFTH GRADE BOOK BATTLE
Dear Parents and Fifth Grade Students,
The elementary school librarians are planning to implement a “Battle of The Books for the fifth grade”. Some of your children may have chosen to participate in the competition last year at the fourth grade level.
We are planning to structure this competition in the same manner as last year, however there will be only one book the students are required to read. The title selected is: All The Way Home, by Patricia Reilly Giff. Copies will be available in the school library. The individual school “battle” will take place during the school day early in April. The winning team may travel to one of the other elementary schools, during the school day to compete in the district competition. In order to participate, each student: ¨ Must return the registration form to the library by March 2nd. ¨ Is responsible for reading All The Way Home ¨ Agrees to be placed on a team ¨ Will participate by answering questions about the book
Thank you in advance for your participation.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Kellenberger Librarian
