     BIRTHDAY BOOK CLUB

As part of our school-wide focus on better nutrition for our children,  Mrs. Adams and the faculty are asking all families to consider becoming part of the Washington School Birthday Book Club.

HOW TO JOIN

IN LIEU OF sending in cupcakes or treats to be eaten to celebrate your child's birthday, Mrs. Kellenberger will purchase a special book in honor of this important event.  Each book will have a special bookplate affixed with your child's name and birth date.  In addition, your child's name will be added to the bulletin board in the library hallway, and he/she will receive a token of appreciation from Washington School.

The donation for a hardcover book is $10.00.  Mrs. Kellenberger will purchase the books.  Please remit your donation in the form of cash (no checks, please as the bookkeeping is very difficult.)  Kindly supply your child's name and birthday on the envelope along with your donation. If possible, one week notice would be appreciated.

Your participation in the Washington School birthday Book club will help combat childhood obesity and foster a love of reading, by reinforcing the notion that special occasions need not always be celebrated with food.  Also, there are a growing number of children with serve food allergies.  None of our students are allergic to books!!!!!  Keep in mind that a cupcake lasts a minute, but a book honors your child over and over again.  Any questions, please contact Mrs. Kellenberger:     cindyk@cwcboe.org.
