BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

Dear Parents and Fourth Grade Students,

For the fifth year, the elementary library media specialists in the district will be having a Battle of the Books competition.  Students wishing to participate will be required to read the selected books prior to the given date.  All books will be available for students to sign out from our library.  I will assign students to a team.  The teams will compete against each other in their knowledge of the selected books.  The winning team from Washington School will compete in a district-wide battle following this competition.

Students interested in participating must:

Return the registration form to the library no later than November 17th

Agree to read the four selected books:

        Frindle by Andrew Clements

        Holy Enchilada  by Henry Winkler

The Whipping Boy by Sid Fleischman

Be A Perfect Person In Three Days by Stephen Manes

Prepare for the competition

Compete as part of a team by answering questions about the book.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Kellenberger
