Miss Leissler's Homework Page

Homework will vary depending upon each project and which class the students are in.....

For Ceramics:

There is usually no homework in Ceramics.  However, students will be asked to complete research at times if they would like to create their own proposed project idea.  Homework for this could include sketches and printing out reference pictures.

For Interior Decoration:

Interior Decoration is designed so that most of the work is done in an in-class studio setting, so there should be little to no homework for this course.  However, if a student should miss a class or more, they may have homework in order to catch up with the work they missed in class.  Students are also encouraged to bring in magazines from home that they can use for reference (and extra credit!) in this course.

For World Cultures Art:

Depending on which culture we are studying, homework will vary.  The cultures we will be looking at from an art perspective include:  Africa, India, China, and Japan.  Homework for these classes include:

Africa:  Students will be asked to create pieces to put under their masks to create 3-D areas from items such as foil, newspaper, tape, bottle caps, and other miscellaneous items.

India:  Each student will be instructed to pick a topic that shows a progress in various subjects (such as the seasons, life cyles, friendships, day and night, etc.).  For each topic each student will be asked to bring in photographs to illustrate this progression, either from a camera, digital camera, magazines, or from the internet.  Students may need to take these projects home to complete them.

China:  Students will be asked to print out an image of their Chinese Zodiac animal for their silk scrolls.

Japan:  There will be no homework for this project
