Study Skills

Here are some techniques that might help improve your study skills.

Get yourself organized.  Use the 5-pocket folder Miss Borowski has provided for you to organize all of your papers.  Your locker also falls under this category!

Do your homework!!   Homework is an excellent way to determine how well you know the material.

Pay attention the day we play Jeopardy, Deal or No Deal, or Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader.  Listen to the questions & answers. These games are a review for the test.

Use the study guides Miss Borowski has made for each chapter! Ask someone to quiz you each night, not just the night before a test.

Use a highlighter to emphasize important words on your study guides.  This will help these words stand out in your mind!!

Read your study guides out loud. When you are studying for a test, alternate between reading over your notes front to back, then back to front.

Don't postpone things. Waiting until the last minute to study or complete assignments rarely works!

Divide and conquer: If you have a huge workload, don't try to do it all at once. Divide it into smaller, reasonable tasks.

Last but not least: Ask for help!!!   If you need help studying or understanding the material, ask Miss Borowski during class.  She is also available every day before and after school.
