*  What are your thoughts and feelings about his art?

The Task:  At the end of your Quest you will…

 

*  Submit a timeline of Diego Rivera’s life by email.

*  Report your findings at virtual museum sites on a Power Point presentation.

*  Illustrate the influences that led Rivera to paint murals and

       express your reactions in a personal mini-mural.

Directions: The class will spend 5 days working in groups on this Web Quest. Much of the computer time will be spent outside of class, working alone. Information from the Internet will be carried to class for sharing within groups, so begin a file of important information. Only one or two class days will be scheduled for Computer Lab.

Step One:  You will be assigned to a group of 3 or 4 students to complete this Quest.

 

Step Two:  Fill in and submit (email) the following document to show the jobs each member of the group is responsible for. H:\LOS MURALISTAS\MURALIST LOG SHEET.doc

 

Step Three:  With your group members, meet and share the data you from the links in the RESOURCES section.

 

Step Four:  Work independently on your specific task.  This will take place during class and at home. 

 

TASKS

1.   Your group will electronically submit a typed timeline including 20 major events in his life. The events can include personal facts, professional facts, and relationships with infamous/famous people or countries. 

2.   Your group will prepare a PowerPoint document to show examples of 10 different locations of Rivera’s murals.  Each slide should include: 

-        Name of mural

-        Location of the mural

-        Brief explanation of the reason the mural was created

 

3.  You’ve been commissioned to paint a mural on a wall in the GCMS cafeteria.   Your goal is to teach the incoming students about EITHER:

-        Rivera’s life and cultural ideas

                     OR

-        student life and special events in GCMS

(Your mural will be created on a 12” x 18” sheet of construction paper.)
